August, 2006 - THE GROW MODEL

In the first month of the program you will learn all about coaching as a leadership style.  Specifically, by the end of the month you'll:

  • Hear a demonstration of a specific coaching model,
  • Understand what coaching is,
  • Walk through the 4 stages of a dynamic coaching session,
  • Know the importance of instilling a compelling vision,
  • Know the difference between motivation and inspiration,
  • Learn exactly how to set up coaching sessions with your team, including setting up an effective structure and groundrules,
  • Receive templates for intake and session prep forms,
  • Discover how to challenge your team for significant change.

 

September, 2006 - COACHING SKILLS

Now that you've learned a powerful coaching model and you've begun coaching your team, it's time to learn some coaching skills to make your sessions even more effective.  Specifically:

  • The core competency of leadership and coaching,
  • The power of asking effective questions,
  • 10 techniques/skills to masterful coaching:
    • Level II Listening
    • Balancing Questioning / Listening
    • Asking understanding-enhancing questions
    • Chaining
    • Offering feedback
    • Summarizing
    • Triangulation
    • The Socratic Method
    • Reframing
    • Immediacy
  • How to achieve deeper levels of listening,
  • How to handle resistance in a coaching session,
  • Examples to illustrate the concepts and skills.

 

October, 2006 - MINDSET MASTERING TOOLS

Managing the "little voice" in our heads is the most critical task of any independent professional.  Having your consultants learn how to master their mindset is 80% of the battle in achieving success.  In this month, you'll learn the techniques to help them do just that.  You'll discover:

  • The biggest reason your consultants don't realize success
  • What makes up their mindset or psychology
  • 10 forms of twisted thinking that sabotages our success
  • 5 techniques to help consultants untwist their thinking
  • 4 specific and powerful techniques to coaching your team in this area:
    • Triple Column Technique
    • The Payoff

  • The emotional cues that identify mindset problems

 

November, 2006 - DISCOVERING YOUR LEADERSHIP STYLE

A leader cannot lead everyone on his or her team the same way, because everybody is different in the way they behave, think and communicate.  In this month, you will learn how to finesse your leadership style to best inspire consultants of all different personalities.

Note: You will take a special behavioral assessment instrument to determine your leadership style. 

You'll learn:

  • A key quality of great leaders
  • 4 basic leadership styles (DISC)
  • How to identify your style
  • The DISC model
  • How to interpret your behavioral assessment profile
  • How to utilize the skill of "people reading"
  • How to utilize your natural strengths in leadership
  • How to adapt your leadership style for greater influence and effectiveness with your team.

 

December, 2006 - COACHING TARGET AREAS

Wouldn't it be great to be able to know where to focus a coaching call the best way to help your consultant?  Many times there are so many variables and dynamics to a situation, it's tough to know where to start.

This month you will learn a powerful process for this.  We'll also cover the limits you need to set when leading your team so that you protect your most valuable leadership asset... YOU.
